Based on the atmosphere of The Stade in Old Town, Hasting. I take you through the project in acrylic, showing you howto double load the brush with paint. With watercolour the place has a delicate feel but still captures the seaside feel. Suitable for all abilities.
Materials for Quirky Town Project with acrylic paint:
I used an A3 size piece of mount card but again anything goes with this project - bigger or smaller would all work and it doesn’t need to be mount card - plywood, mdf or packaging cardboard would all work.
Make sure whatever you use, prime with at least 2 to 3 coats of a very dark/mixed black acrylic paint.
Cobalt Blue, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Cadmium Red and White.
Burnt Umber, Ultramarine Blue (These last 2 colours make a good mixed black)
3/4” Flat brush. Or similar flat brush.
Light coloured watercolour pencil to make drawing.
Black pen- fountain pen, art fine liner pen, black biro, gel pen.
For the watercolour version.
I used Ultramarine Blue, Burnt Umber, Lemon Yellow (any will do) Vermillion Red.
Again any colours would suit this project.
Watercolour paper any weight/type/size will do.
